Friday has rolled around once again, and with it comes a whole new round of Friday Props. This weeks props delve into the world of culinary. Starting off is a series of pancake based projects by collected over at Saipancakes. The most recent project features the creation pancakes more reminiscent of spirograph art than breakfast food. The “spirocakes” are created with a custom built “pangraph” device. (plans to build your own can be found here) The site also features pancake portraits, a pancake pendulum, and various other flapjack inspired creations. Kickstarter Project Food Truck Revolution also caught our attention this week. The Read More >>
Friday Props is back for another week of cool stuff. This week we’re keeping things simple; starting off with a project by freelance Designer and Art Director Jack Hughes. “The Colour Clock” displays colors by hex value corresponding to time. Friday Props are back with a vengeance. A flashy, neon colored vengeance. Kicking things off this round of friday props is Toronto based indie game design studio Astroid Base. They’re currently working on Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, a flashy Co-op micro-platformer. Featuring lasers, colorful explosions, a quirky soundtrack, and a space dog named Dash, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime looks to be a uniquely compelling co-op game A release date hasn’t been set yet, but we have been told the game will be released on Xbox One as well as via Steam for both PC and Mac. I missed a week of Friday Props - it's almost becoming the norm. And today as I sat at lunch and suddenly remembered it's Friday and I had to bang out the weekly, I knew that if I had to Face It then so, too, would our readers. So it's the Face It edition of Friday Props. Up first for some Props-worthy photo and video work is some doggedly good stuff from Carli Davison as featured in her book Shake. The moments captured and slowed down can be both disturbing and delightful and certainly not what I typically imagine when thinking of Read More >>
Now that the Edgeworks Crew is all back together in adorable Waterbury, Vermont again. I would like to point out an awful truth: winter is coming, people. Yesterday and today are not good indications of this, but on Tuesday morning I had to SCRAPE THE WINDOWS OF MY CAR, which made me late to work, which then threw off my mojo for the whole day. There's this new trend of "Life Hacks" abound on the internet, so I was thinking maybe I could compile a winter specific list to make all of our friends/family/frenemies who live in colder climates have an easier Read More >>
This week we bring you Friday Props quite a bit later than normal - it's Friday Props Late Edition! I'm okay with that because our little Friday Props has grown up a bit and can stay out later. As the team found itself in Bolton today to start another season of Michelin Tire Schools my thoughts were turned to the change of seasons and to the rites of passage this year brings us including all those graduating classes. So for this weeks' Props I'm handing out recognition to great commencement speeches and advice. The first Props goes out to Steve Jobs for Read More >>
For our one year anniversary of bringing little bits of awesome to you each and every Friday we've created a special retrospective highlighting our favorite Props from the year.
She wore an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny, yellow polka Prop Buh-lini. Tiny. Small. Miniature. One catch phrase I used to hear frequently from a former boss of mine was "detail-oriented." Given the context of those conversations, I'll stick with the first three and avoid making you suffer through the oft-used cliches to introduce our Prop-holders today. Read More >>
Internet is down doing this on an iPad. Props are coming to you from the far left reaches of Vancouver and somewhere in Florida.
